The Surfix team has its roots in the surface modification technologies based on organic chemisty. Over the years, we have continually added to this core expertise with complementary technologies such as the specialization on biochips and complementary microfluidics. As such our team is versatile, solution-oriented and we like to build and maintain close and cooperative relationships with our partners and customers.
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Luc Scheres is the CTO of Surfix. In 2005 he received his MSc degree in Chemistry and Physics at Utrecht University. Subsequently Luc moved to Wageningen University and obtained his PhD degree (with highest honours) in 2010. After a short post-doc at Eindhoven University Luc founded Surfix in 2011.
Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)
Hans served in various commercial roles in different companies. After a decade in the lab working as a molecular biology technician he started his commercial career as a sales manager for Schleicher & Schuell in 1993. This company was taken over by Whatman and later GE Healthcare. In the meantime Hans had started working in an international role in the sales of consumables for diagnostic rapid tests for point-of-care use in 2000. After GE Hans joined Scienion in 2009 where he was responsible for the sales of high-end equipment in the field of precision dispensing and liquid handling. In 2019 Hans joined Surfix.
R&D/ Project Manager
Wout studied Molecular Sciences at Wageningen University and obtained his PhD degree in Physical Chemistry from the same university in 2007. He then took a position at Holst Centre in Eindhoven, where he built 8 years of experience developing new technologies for chemical sensing, working with polymers, thin films and colloidal systems. In 2015, Wout moved back to Wageningen to join Surfix.
Anke studied Biology and Biotechnology in Germany and France before moving to Wageningen to work on her PhD Thesis entitled "Oriented Antibodies as Versatile Detection Elements in Biosensors". In 2013 Anke joined Surfix, where her strong background in biology and extensive experience with surface modificiation are of great value.
